Android 2.0 Eclair SDK is released

Android 2.0 Éclair has now been released by Google’s Android mobile operating system team and is expected to be first on the new Motorola Droid on Verizon Wireless as of the 6th of November reports an article on eweek.

Features of the new Android 2.0 SDK are new API’s for sync, contacts and account manager; the sync API supports 2-way contact sync to anay back end, while the account manager API enables developers centrally store user credentials on handsets while the contacts API enables syncing and aggregates contact data and email from multiple accounts.

There is also Quick Contact which enables the users to instantly contact each other, a combined inbox feature to enable the browsing of multiple accounts in one page and the ability to search all saved MMS and SMS; for the full spec hit up the link.
