Microsoft Kin phones vs Nokia social networking handsets

There has been a number of announcements, which we were expecting involving new mobile devices, two from Microsoft and three from Nokia. We have the Kin One and Two from Microsoft and the C3, C6 and E5 from Nokia.

Starting with the Kin One and the Kin Two both devices feature hardware QWERTY keyboards, QVGA resolution touchscreen displays and also chrome-less look with Windows Phone 7 platform recently launched by Microsoft.

The Kin One is smaller than the Two and has a 5 megapixel camera with LumiLED flash. 4GB of internal storage and is capable of recording video in standard definition resolution. The Kin one doesn’t have stereo speakers.

The Kin Two has 8GB of internal storage and an 8 megapixel camera again with LumiLED flash and HD video recording. The Kin Two has stereo speakers also. Both devices have Zune media player, Zunepass subscriptions, 3.5mm and rich browsing experience with Bing search integrated and also RSS feed support.

Now we’ll have a look at the Nokia devices starting with the Nokia C3 which is a full QWERTY keyboard handset which brings with it the new series 40 mobile phone platform. Social networking heaven is what this device has been described as, as it allows you to access social networks directly from the home screen. It comes with Ovi Chat, and Ovi Mail and you can set up email accounts with ease straight from the device is has a 8GB memory card with a rich colour 2.4 inch screen, Wi-Fi connectivity and a 2 megapixel camera. The cost is said to be EUR 90 before taxes and subsides and should be released during the second quarter.

Or you have the Nokia C6, a middle range touchscreen Smartphone, it has a slide out QWERTY keyboard and has a comprehensive social messaging software suite. It features a 5 megapixel camera and has integrated GPS. It also comes with a full range of Ovi services the Nokia C6 is expected later this quarter at a cost of EUR 220 before taxes and subsides.

Finally we have the Nokia E5 which is the latest edition to the Eseries again it is a middle range device which has a QWERTY slab form with a 5 megapixel camera, 3G, Wi-Fi and Tri band and integrated GPS. The Nokia E5 also has a comprehensive social networking software suite and has support for email, social networking sites and instant messaging the E5 is said to be coming in quarter 3 at the cost of EUR 180 before taxes and subsides.
