Qualcomm to Enable Mobile TV Show Recording on Phones

Later this year mobile phone and mobile devices which sport Qualcomm’s FLO TV broadcasts will gain new features, one of which is the ability to record TV shows off the air reports an article over on Yahoo Finance.

There are currently two mobile phones which can receive the broadcasts via the FLO TV service with AT&T and is branded “AT&T Mobile TV” while two more mobile phones are offered by rival Verizon Wireless for “V Cast Mobile TV.”

Apparently mobile TV hasn’t been too great a draw for mobile phone shoppers thus far but Qualcomm has stated they aim to change that position in the second half of the year by delivering to the buyer more flexibility.

A new video recording feature will enable the user to watch shows when they wish. Furthermore Qualcomm will allow viewers to purchase service by the day rather than opting to subscribe at $10 to $15 a month for 12 channels.
