iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 4: New Homescreen, Menu Setting Features

The new iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 4 is now ready for download and is free, there are a few changes within this new software like new Homescreen and a new option in the settings menu.

Electronista reports that this new OS release gives a few clues that AT&T will finally enable data tethering, yes a new option that will enable you to set up tethering. BGR’s Michael Bettiol has said that no changelog has been released but we have found a few new features thanks to Rosa Golijan over at Gizmodo.

New features include a new option in the Settings menu and that clearly says ‘Tethering’, another feature is to do with the Home screen, the new default home screen is now different where your apps will not be spread out when you turn the iPhone on, it will now show you compass, clock, calculator and voice memo apps sitting in a new folder called ‘Utilities’.

There are new default wallpapers that are actually a lot better and will make great home screen wallpapers, apparently according to Gizmodo the Maps seem a little snappier and a lot more precise and the apps seem to be more responsive.

As soon as we hear more about the new iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 4 features we will let you know, of course if you come across anything we have missed please do let us know.

I don't know if this has been notices already, nor if it was on the previous OS. Under the 'Accessibility' section of the 'General' settings there is an option to increase the font size. I'm pretty sure I hadn't noticed this before. Only a minor change though.
