Really the last thing in the world you want to do with your iPhone and iPad is accidentally put them out as garbage on trash day, but apparently this did happen to programmer Eric Boehs. So what does one do when you realise your iPhone and iPad is in a trash truck?

Well we have a video for your viewing pleasure today of Eric Boehs quest to retrieve his iPhone and iPad from the garbage company’s trash collection vehicle, which although is kind of funny does send a message to make sure you don’t make the same mistake.

The video below lasts just over eight and a half minutes of Boehs tracking his lost iPhone and iPad via MobileMe’s Find My iPhone and Find My iPad using a colleagues 3G iPad to chase down the Apple devices, and comes to us courtesy of Rosa Golijan over at Gizmodo by way of NewsOK.
