iPhone Software 4.0.1 Update: Has it Made a Difference?

We are asking our readers if the new iPhone Software 4.0.1 Update (iOS 4) has made a difference to your iPhone 4 signal bars.

At the Apple Press Conference Steve Jobs in our minds done a fantastic job in giving his views on the current problem of reception issues, he mentioned about a new update that would correct the signal bar algorithm to give correct signal strength.

Apple did release the new software aka iPhone OS 4.0.1 and many of you must have installed this new update for your iPhone 4, we would love to know if the new update improves the formula to determine how many bars of signal strength to display.

The signal strength will always be the same as it was but the update will correct the way the formula calculates the bars to display the given signal strength, please let us know your outcome and how many bars you are receiving in what area.

Please post all your comments below as we would like to know how you are getting on with your new Apple iPhone 4 and its new iPhone Software 4.0.1 Update.

Upgrade has resulted in a change to the bars. I do get a more accurate idea of signal strength. However the biggest improvement I’ve seen in battery life has significantly increased. It should be noted I have a 3GS. Perhaps new release has addressed underlying multitasking power issues anyway battery life is awesome compared to ios4

I wish I was seeing 10 posts about "4.0.1 is great" but instead… back to Google. How did you get ranked so high on "iphone 4.0.1" news?

  3. Steve Martens says:

Cannot say that I have noted any improvements in reception. I have noted that my 3G phone is now quite slow in how it reacts to simple changes in applications and searches. I can't wait to see what is available at the end of my AT&T contract.
