Android Kicking Windows Phone 7 Butt

So just how well is Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 7 platform doing compared with other mobile phone operating systems? Well apparently the new WP7 isn’t doing that great at all according to a UK retailer.

According to an article over on Electronista, UK retailer Mobiles Please had provided data which apparently shows that Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 sales have been somewhat disappointing with only 3% of the retailer’s sales being WP7 devices.

That percentage apparently was so low that Android outsold Windows Phone 7 to a ratio of about 15 to 1 and Windows Phone 7 was even getting a kicking from Symbian^3 at a ratio of 3 to 1. The retail stated that their data may be “anecdotal” but they also checked with other retailers such as Carphone Warehouse.

Apparently the rival retailers wouldn’t come across with any sales figured but several did note that Microsoft Windows Phone 7 devices “are not selling, “with HTC Android, BlackBerry and iPhone all being in strong demand.

So if the data is true and rival platform devices are in more demand, it looks like Microsoft and WP7 is getting their combined butt kicked in the mobile space; having said that, WP7 is still young so maybe will pick up a tad next year, what do you think?
