Asus Eee Pad Transformer 2: Bigger-Screen & Tegra 3 Kal-El

Asus have a big surprise in store for tablet buyers; the company has just confirmed that they are working on the new Asus Eee Pad Transformer 2, which will come with a bigger screen and a more impressive NVIDIA quad-core Tegra 3 aka Kal-El processor.

At the moment the new tablet is known as the Transformer 2, and this one will be so much better than the first one. This news has been confirmed, by Asus chairman Jonney Shih and at the moment not a lot of information can be mentioned of the devices new features.

All we know is, the software and hardware will be more impressive and very much more powerful, apparently according to Forbes the new tablet will debut in September, is this the year of September releases; Nokia N9, Apple iPhone 5 and now the new Asus Transformer tablet PC. September is going to be the best month of the whole year for new releases, stay with us because it is going to be fantastic.

The current Asus Eee Pad Transformer costs around about $395, so we will speculate that the new one will be a little more expensive. All we know is the new tablet will be more impressive than the first, Asus will reveal the tablet before the end of the year as they cannot wait for the Consumer Electronics Show in January, September it is then.

Asus shipped a cool 300,000 units last month and 400,000 this month, so it stands to reason that the second tablet will do better.

Asus are still planning on launching the two remaining tablets, the first being the 10-inch sliding keyboard Eee Pad Slider, and the second one being the 7-inch, 3D-enabled Eee Pad MeMo within the next month or so.

There are many new tablet PC’s releasing so how will the new Asus Eee Pad Transformer tablet fair in the tablet sales corner?

We have got to wait, sit back and be patient until official information comes in to us, we speculate the Transformer 2 could possibly come with a bigger screen and a much better processor, but this is speculation. Asus chairman Jonney Shih has refrained from letting anything out of the bag.

Is the Asus Eee Pad Transformer 2 exciting you yet? Whilst we wait for more information what specs would you like the new tablet PC to feature. Please do let us know what you are thinking. Thanks

  1. My dream specs for a new Asus tablet would be:

    Kal-El / Tegra 3 processor
11-12″ edge-to-edge screen. (Why lose 2″ of screen with a ugly black border?)
    1440×900 resolution
    HDMI-out
    64-128 GB of memory.
Design style similar to Asus U46 Laptops

  2. Mark Roemer says:

Here is the thing about this device: It seams that no one is really looking at the really important stuff hear.
    Yes HDMI-out
    Bluetooth v4.0 a must
Ram needs to get past 1GB at least 2GB
    Internal storage 32-64 GB
Dump Micro SDHC for SDXC on Tablet
Keyboard should have standard SDXC card slot
High Screen resolution means it needs more storage required cause the files are bigger.

Really good Camera Lenses and low light sensitive chips and Good software to go with it.
Samsung offers really good camera settings options and Android Itself offers such basic options that it Defeats the point of having cameras at all.

These Tablets need to be made and tested to give 10 hours of Continuous HD video playback.

These are the real things that people need to look at and what ASUS and every other android device maker needs to achieve with this generation (Tigra 3 – Android 3.2) and this should be the bare minimum when it comes time for the Tigra 4 chips.

  3. Can’t wait for this to be released. Doesn’t look like it’s going to be a bigger screen anymore and doubt the spec will be that much higher than the original Transformer apart from the quad core obviously but I’m still going to get one as looks like it’ll be the first decent tablet out with the quad core processor
