ESPN Goals App Surpasses 1 Million Downloads in UK

From the 8th f August to the 8th of September, the ESPN Goals app was the most downloaded free iPhone app in the United Kingdom, the second most downloaded sports app on Android, and the tenth most downloaded app across all genres in the UK.

ESPN International vice president of digital media, Tom Gleeson says, “ESPN Goals has established a popular brand and built a broad user base with fans by demonstrating its ability to connect fans with Premier League football on the move. The app reflects our approach to bring fans multi-screen access to football, which is something we will continue to enhance as our business grows in the UK.”

Football fans have registered in excess of 50 million page views in just 2 months and have logged in excess of 61.3 million minutes of time on the ESPN Goals app.

ESPN has now reached a new round of advertising agreements for the ESPN Goals app with 3 consumer brands, Electronic Arts, Mentholatum and Continental Tyres, with each running shor pre-roll video adverts and video clips in the app.

For those football fans that haven’t yet grabbed the ESPN Goals app you can do so by hitting you iTunes for the iPhone, the Android Market, BlackBerry App World, Nokia Ovi Store, and the Windows Phone Marketplace.
