Nokia Lumia 800 unlocked via Microsoft Stores, choice time

Thus far over in Europe the first Windows Phone out of the Nokia camp, the Nokia Lumia 800 hasn’t done too well in the sales stakes, however that may soon change as Microsoft made an announcement at CES 2012 to do with the Nokia Lumia 800 that just might help the Windows Phone become more of a success.

According to an article over on Neowin by way of the official Windows Phone Blog, Microsoft has said they are to offer the Nokia Lumia 800 for sale as an unlocked handset in various Microsoft retail locations in different colours.

So it would appear at some point in the game you will be able to purchase the Nokia Lumia 800 unlocked direct from Microsoft however there is currently no word on just how much Microsoft will sell the Lumia 800 for.

In related news apparently the word is both the Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 710 will surface for purchase in Canada at some point in the not too distant future with both Telus and Rogers said to offer the Windows phone devices, but again no word on what Rogers and Talus will ask for the handsets.

So, if Microsoft does indeed start selling the unlocked Nokia Lumia 800 in their retail stores will you buy one from Microsoft, or will you opt for another Windows Phone device, perhaps the Nokia Lumia 900 will be your preferred smartphone of choice once it comes out to play.

I bought the European version and it had T-Mobile splash screen and did not play nicely on AT&T, thus returned it. Cannot wait to buy one from the MS Store. I already have the Nokia N9…Gorgeous…
