HTC Ville C cheaper version of One S

Last year HTC experienced a big drop in sales and profits and the company announced they would reduce the amount of handsets that it releases to improve the situation, but the company still seems intent on providing a number of handsets as there is news of the HTC Ville C that is basically a cheaper version of the One S.

The manufacturer and T-Mobile has recently announced the Desire C for consumers in the UK, and now Brief Mobile has a screenshot of another new HTC handset, the Ville C. The screenshot of the specs can be seen below and the source is saying that it is basically a more affordable version of the HTC One S. The handset is said to be an ‘ultra slim’ smartphone but the exact measurements are not yet known.

It will have Android Ice Cream Sandwich straight from the box, and there is a chance it will feature Sense 4.5. You would have expected it to have Sense 4.0 but there is talk that Sense 4.5 is already being worked on by the company. Other specifications suggest the Ville C will feature a 4.3-inch qHD AMOLED screen with 16GB of on board memory.

There is also a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm dual core MSM8260 S3 processor and 1GB of RAM, it is listed at 1.7GHz, but the source is suggesting that this is just a typo. The camera will have an eight megapixel sensor that is also found on the One S, which will mean it will be capable of 1080p video capture, and round at the front there is a VGA camera. Powering the device is a 1,650 mAh battery but it is not known if this is removable.

It is not known if there will be Beats Audio technology with the handset but as the Desire C has it there is a good chance. Unfortunately there is no information on release timescales or pricing, and it makes you wonder if the company will again bombard consumers with a number of new models again this year.
