Donna Summer tribute app for Android
You will have had to be living on Mars not to have heard the recent sad news about the death of disco queen Donna Summer. As is often the case when a major star dies, a resurgence of their music arises as original fans want to remind themselves of the songs while new fans want to hear them for the first time. With this in mind we’ve tracked down a Donna Summer Android app that may interest you.
Donna Summer was synonymous with disco music and provided many of us with a soundtrack to our more youthful years (giving away my age). Her sad death from cancer at the age of only 63 in Florida stunned many fans around the world. The five-time Grammy award winner released a string of hits that are now being played all over the airwaves once more and according to The Washington Post she was the first African American woman to receive a nomination for an MTV Video Music Award.
We took a look to see if we could find any apps that readers might like to download to remind themselves of the great lady herself and although we found two Android apps available, sadly one of them now seems to have disappeared from Google Play. We have no idea why this is although hopefully it may be returned at some point in the not too distant future.
There is an Android app still available though and it’s Donna Summer Tribute Ringtones, a free app for devices running Android 2.2 or later. These tones can be used as ringtones of course but also for alarms or notifications or they can be shared with your friends. The tribute playlist includes 20 of Donna Summer’s most famous songs. Just a few of them are I Feel Love, MacArthur Park, Love To Love You Baby, Bad Girls, She Works Hard For The Money, On the Radio, Dim All The Lights and Hot Stuff. All of them are unforgettable songs to many of us. You can download the app from Google Play here.
Will you be downloading the Donna Summer Tribute Ringtones app for Android? Maybe you’ve come across another good app for Donna Summer fans and can share the details with us? Send your comments to let us know.
