Apple and Samsung have long been battling it out in various courts around the world over alleged patent infringements, but many feel that Apple is simply running scared of its rival as it now enjoys a greater level of success in the mobile world. The company is now set to announce the next Galaxy device at a special press event on August 15th.
As TechCrunch are reporting Samsung has been busy sending out press invites for a major product announcement on August 15, which as the company puts it will be for the unveiling of the “newest GALAXY device”. The company didn’t go into anymore details which have seen the speculation and rumour mill kick into over drive about what Samsung will be showing to the world.
The press invite came from Samsung Electronics America and not Samsung Telecommunications America, so it doesn’t seem likely that the company is about to reveal the Galaxy Note 2. This handset has just shown up on a benchmark website and is believed to be revealed at an Unpacked event on the 30th of August.
There is a good chance that the company may use the event to showcase the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, which first popped up earlier this year at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Since then it has been rumoured that Samsung has been busy making some small changes to the devices design and internal components.
Of course there is still a chance that the announcement could be related to a new smartphone, but the company has only just released the Galaxy S3 and it is selling like hot cakes, so you would have thought the company would give it a while longer to be in the spotlight. Samsung could also be about to surprise everyone with something entirely new considering they are set to announce a new device with Galaxy branding.
Do you think we will see the Galaxy Note 10.1 or Galaxy Note 2 at the event on August 15?
