Motorola sues RIM for employee poaching

The world’s third largest maker of mobile phones, Motorola Inc, has claimed in a lawsuit that BlackBerry manufacturer Research In Motion Ltd is stealing its workers, which is a violation of an agreement between the two rival companies.

Research In Motion has apparently since February targeted at least 40 Motorola employees who can not work at the new company without divulging trade secrets, said the lawsuit Motorola filed in Cook County Illinois on September 4th.

Motorola has asked a judge to bar Research In Motion from using Motorola confidential information and soliciting or hiring Motorola employees, and also is seeking $50,000 damages.
