Smartphones sales increase: BlackBerry OS beats Windows mobile

Come on Microsoft! Don’t be left behind when are you going to show us Windows Mobile 7?

If we look at the profile of global smartphone sales provided by Gartner’s, we can see in the second quarter of 2008 that RIM’s BlackBerry OS has leaped over Windows Mobile and has now become the second most popular platform around the world.

Symbian casually keeps its number one spot as the world’s best platform. smartphone has an 11 percent of the overall mobile market which was no change from last year, although the entire market saw an increase, which meant the total shipment of smartphones rose a solid 15.7 percent over the same period.
