ZTE shows off first EDGE TD-SCDMA handset in the world

ZTE in China has shown off the world’s first EDGE/TD-SCDMA mobile phone, which is called the ZTE U990 and is ZTE’ s third high end TD-SCDMA mobile phone which will be available on the market soon.

ZTE’s two previous models are the U980 and U981, and now the new U990 brings high-speed transmission of up to 2.8Mbps and the fastest among the TD-SCDMA terminals available within the industry.

ZTE’s U990 runs on Windows Mobile 6.0 OS and is ZTE’s first handset to be integrated with a Microsoft operating system. ZTE is the largest supplier of TD-SCDMA based 3G handsets to China Mobile.
