Android based phone coming via TechFaith China in 2009

TechFaith Wireless Communication Technology Ltd, China, has announced their strategy to release a commercial Android platform powered mobile phone sometime early 09. TechFaith assists mobile phone manufacturers in the designs area.

TechFaith already have an impressive client base which includes Open Handset Alliance member Motorola, and the likes of LG, Sprint, SK Telecom, Bird, Amoi, France Telecom and CECT.

TechFaith concentrates their development within the Chinese market, and apparently already has an Android based prototype, and expects to announce the manufacturer by the end of November. With Motorola already working on an Android phone, there could be a possibility of both companies teaming up on this.
