BlackBerry Curve 8320 doubles in price on Rogers?

Seems like someone goofed with the Rogers BlackBerry 8320 promo website as it has the BlackBerry 8320 with the Canadian carrier for $99.00. However if you click though you’ll note that Rogers is actually selling it for $49.99 subject to a 3 year agreement.

Must say, it doesn’t bode well for an advertising campaign when the actual website makes such a big booboo on the most important of all things the price. One would have thought that particular mistake would have been checked before it hit the net waves.

Still I guess we can all make the odd mistake when working with web pages after all $99.00 is only double what it should have been. I wonder if anyone joined the unemployment line after this.

Actually, it’s a bit confusing but the deal is… an existing Rogers customers with a Blackberry phone (e.g. Pearl) can upgrade to BB Curve for $99 starting a new 3year agreement at the time of an upgrade. However, a new customer can purchase the same phone for $49.99. I don’t believe it was an advertising error, they just like to make it confusing on this side of the Atlantic. Never mind additional hidden, not advertised and undisclosed fees and taxes that could add up to another $100.
    Cheers.
