RIM and Kineto Wireless sign patent licensing agreement

Kineto Wireless Inc has announced they have entered an patent licensing contract with BlackBerry maker Research In Motion; Kineto Wireless is a leading supplier of fixed convergence solutions for mobile phones.

The president and CEO of Kineto Wireless, Rick Gilbert has said they are committed to assisting the extensive implementation of UMA/GAN tech which encourages additional innovation with 2G/3G and LTE networks.

Mobile operators are able to extend voice, data and IMS services across fixed and mobile broadband access networks via the 3GPP UMA/GAN standards, and based on the UMA/GAN standard, mobile operators across the globe offer femtocell, terminal adaptors, dual mode handsets and softmobile.
