We learned a fair bit about the Palm Pre, Palms new way back into the top level of the mobile arena, but the new webOS is something entirely different and has still some work needed to be done to finish and polish it to become a world class platform.

However Yahoo’s Tech Ticker got to grips with Roger McNamee of Elevation Partners, who has ploughed a fair bit of cash into Palm survival in the past while developing the Palm Pre, and he’s put a couple of location orientated apps into the webOS.

Apparently the Palm Pre can check your calendar every morning and auto-download info on places, people, and companies you may be visiting along with maps. There is also a lateness notifier, which has the GOS find where you are as to where you should be and then lets you know. We have a video from Tech Ticker below to give you the low-down.
