O2 Germany want 6 to 8 Android handset this year?

Apparently, over in Munich during Innovation Days 2009, a product manager of O2 has been quoted as saying that by the end of 09, O2 wants to have 6 to 8 Android powered mobile phones out.

Well, whether this is true or not you’ll have to make your own judgement on, but we have known that Google Android would be with the Nordic regions sooner or later, so it’s not too inconceivable to presume some would end up in Germany.

However, six to eight does seem rather a lot of Android based handsets to me, maybe the guy was just wishful thinking and voicing that wish; guess we’ll see sooner or later though.

  1. HereAndNow says:

It will be nice to finally have a wide selection of Android devices to choose from. Many of them will probably be announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week.

I hope one day Nokia at least considers offering Android as an option on some of their devices. Then you could get the best of both worlds.
