Video: Google solve touchscreen dialling for visually impaired

With the advancement of the mobile phone we now have the touchscreen smartphone, but what about those who are visually impaired, surely a touchscreen handset causes them problems as there are no physical buttons.

Well Google has been looking into that particular problem, and apparently Google engineers Charles Chen and T.V. Raman have solved this problem in a very simple way.

The developers have come up with a system whereby rather than a finger locates the correct place to press a touchscreen, they have developed software that locates a user’s finger. Rather than try to explain it we have a video demo for you below which shows how it’s done.
