Samsung Tocco Lite for UK market in May
It appears that the United Kingdom is to gain a new smartphone courtesy of Samsung as they have announced the Samsung Tocco Lite for the UK according to mobileburn.
The Samsung Tocco Lite is the latest smartphone in the Tocco range that offers up EDGE data, a 3 megapixel camera, WQVGA display integrated FM radio and of course Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface.
Apparently the UK launch of the Samsung Tocco Lite will be accompanied by a £1.5 million marketing campaign and is expected to be available on UK store shelves in mid May, no word on price though.

I have had samsungs in the past, was torn between samsung Beat Dj and the Tocco Lite. After doing some reading settleed on the latter and I am so glad I bought it 2 days ago at the Carphonewarehouse on Virgin PAYG for £99 plus £10 top-up. It light in the hand, excellent touch screen has 12 speedials in the Phonebook-Favourite section. Texting is easy as can done in the traditional portrait mode or turn the phone in landscape mode and a qwerty keyboard comes out. Voicecalls are clear and loud in both normal and speaker phone modes. There is added bonus of GOOGLE maps to locate addresses and widet section where put most use items on the front e.g, the alarm, mp3 player, calender for appts
I bought this phone last week as I liked the look of it and I wasnt disappointed. The touch screen is very responsive and the sound quality is fantastic. I liked it so much I bought another one for my brother but he has had problems with it cutting out on calls and has had it replaced and seems to be having the same problem again. I hope this is a one off (two off even)because it is a lovely phone.
I seem to have exactly the same problem with it cutting out on calls. Got the Tocco Lite a couple of weeks ago, it had the fault so I went back to Carphone warehouse and replaced it. The new handset seems to be having the same problem too. Very disappointed.
I bought 2 of these phones on 21st June from Carphone warehouse on virgin.. excellent phone for its money but MAJOR PROBLEM.. the audio whilst on calls cuts off several times during each call.. each cut off lasts for 2 to 30 seconds.. its like ive pressed the mute button.. its really really annoying to hear the other person say “HELLO … HELLO.. ARE U THERE?” when your speaking cos they cant hear you.
I have exactly the same problem! I bought the phone (which I absolutely love) on Friday only to hear my mates saying “Hello… hello… hello…” I then took it back and changed it on Saturday… same problem, so changed it again on Sunday… same problem. There isn’t another phone on the market I want but I can’t live with it doing that.
I have this phone a week and i’m having the same problem as most people are ie the call cut offs. I spoke to the guy in the carphone warehouse and he told me they had no probs thus far with this annoying fault. He was obviously lying so i shall get rid of the phone and take my custom elsewhere, maybe i should print this page and bring it to him tomorrow.
on second tocco lite now… deletes entire text message inbox when I turn it off and only seems to receive 1/4 texts.. both phones have same problem.. very disapointed.. anyone else have the same??
Girlfriend just bought this phone on o2 Pay as you go from Carphone Warehouse. It keeps cutting out so I cant hear her, but she can hear me fine.
I went to a different Carphone Warehouse to see what could be done about it, and the guy says the phone is fine otherwise Samsung would do a recall.
Going to try swap the Tocco Lite for a Nokia 5530
OMG i’m so fed up with this phone i thought it was beautiful now that it cuts off every phone call im fed it with it.
OMG me too !! the whole cutting out thing is unbearable, but my problem is this…. The first upgrade i had was back in june a sony erricson which was very quiet so i exchanged it for tocco lite which is defected ( the olde speaker problem!!) 02 shop wont replace it cos i already had an exchange!!! gggrrr…. I’m at a loss .
i have also had these issues the past month and the phone has been to the workshop twice,
am now on second phone and this to has the same issues, BEING FOBBED OFF again by VODA
there is defo something wrong with these phones and think it is on a larger scale,
if all concernd came forward we would see the bigger picture,

im actuali lyking the phone.. it has little faults for me, maybe im lucky i dont know :L
but the only annoying thing i have with my phone is the fact when i ge a message, it never sas who im getting it from.. ive tried everything.. any ideas??
i have had this phone for almost a week, i do’nt have any problems so far and i think the phone is good. the only thing i would like to know is… does anyone else have a problem when recieving texts? whilst on the phone i am unable to open the text unless i get off the phone…..
i bought this phone on T-mobile payg and it is fine. No problems with cutting out call and the like, Goodvalue to, £75.00 plus a ten pound top up. However there are a few problems, sometimes it has difficulty recognising the memory card, and needs to be turned on and off again. this isnt a mojor problem but occasionly when a text message is recieved on the home screen it says NEW MESSAGE! and from: but it does notgiveu the number or name if it is on the contact list.
i absolutely loved this phone, but am now on my second one as had to change it as everytime i turned the phone off, it lost recently added sim contacts. have lost so many numbers because of this phone that wish i never bought it. it may only be only one of few problems, but a phone that deletes your numbers without your doing it is a pretty rubbish phone, so disappointed.
Had this phone for around a month on t-mobile pay n go, no problems with calls or texts but the mp3 player has just started playing up, when you skip through a trak or pause you cannot resume the tune with out skippin back and forth through tracks and listnin to it from the beggining…to be fair though i hav crammed my emory card to the brim with music so im gonna delete it all and see if its jus because the card is too fill…will update when i done it xx

Mrs got me one for xmas, never had anything go wrong as far as calls are concerned and due to the nature of my job it gets used hell of a lot!… but one problem i do have is, it keeps telling me i have an unread text message and i clearly have not. ne one else had this problem?
Other than that the handset i got is pretty much A1.
i bought this phone as a present for my sisters xmas she has the same problem with it cutting out all the time when she on a call….i took it to carphone warehouse and the guy there told me there was nothing wrong with this phone it must need a new batter(which i have just ordered)but clearly isnt the problem.other than this problem she loves the phone..
i having same problem with samsung wave, it just goes silent while on calls, then after few seconds it hangs up…..its happening on most calls now…..
i bought a tocco lite for xmas 2010 as a gift, it was fine, no probs at all until a few weeks ago……..the touch screen doesnt work, if i press the black under the screen i can sometimes get the button, its as if the buttons under the screen have slipped, when i try to press no 4 i get 1 etc, ne other problems like this?? ne idea how it can be sorted??
I bought mine exactly the same time and mine in the past two weeks has had the exact same problem! I can't do anything with it. 🙁 Only buttons that work are the call and end call buttons. Screen is completel unresposive.
Hi im the same i got this phone xmas day last yr and this last couple of weeks it been doing the same did u find out hw to fix this….
My husband bought me a tocco lite for xmas last year, at the same time we bought a genio touch for my daughter, they were both fine for the first six months now we're both experiencing problems. My daughter's phone wouldn't turn off, so kept draining the battery so she would have to have it on constant charge. Recently though its got worse, now it doesn't even charge properly, she can have it on charge for hours but the battery will be dead again after a matter of minutes. Its been sent away 2 phones 4 u but they're saying its not repairable, due to liquid damadge, probably condensation as she hasn't spilt anything on it or submersed it in water. We took out insurance on it so are hoing to get it replaced, but the cover runs out on 23rd december, still not had the claim form they promised to send out, looks like they're stalling. My tocco lite started having problems a couple of months when touching the screen, it would't work. Lately the problem has been with text messages, I'm receiving the same text message from people about six times even a week after the original text message was sent! At first thought it was other people's phone then every text message that I received was doing exactly the same. Now today gone to turn my phone on, came on briefly to say it was fully charged now its switched itself off and now can't get it to turn on at all! Am wondering if there is something wrong with all samsung mobile phones?
I have had this phone since last March and have had the problem with it cutting out. I have been told it could be the touch screen and a software problem and it will have to go back for repair. I feel it should be replaced. I have had two new sim cards which hasn’t helped. Its so annoying having to repeat yourself all the time and never knowing how far you get with your conversation!!
My son's that I got him for Xmas is no longer receiving text messages….anyone know if there's anything to do. Although it sounds like this phone is just crap!

Also theres a problem with the email system too, set up correctly the email feature does not work, so for a smart phone, it really isnt smart.
do i regret getting the phone, hell yes! do youself a favour, if you wanted to get this phone, DONT its a waste of time and money and theres just too much hassle and nothing can be done to sort it out.
