Mobile Phone Hacking under Investigation by Police Commissioner

According to a report on the Independent, Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, John Yates is to establish “the facts” of claims that British newspaper, the News of the World hacked into mobile phones.

Apparently Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Sir Paul Stephenson said to Sky News…”I have asked him to establish the facts of this case and look into the detail.”

The statement follows claims from The Guardian that the New of the World paid in excess of £1 million in settlement cases which threatened to expose evidence of their journalists alleged involvement in mobile phone hacking.
