Poll: Has Nokia got a software problem?

Nokia intends to give away Symbian code to any mobile phone company that wants it, and has already signed on Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Samsung, LG, NTT DoCoMo, Vodafone, and an estimated 18.5 million mobile phones shipped during Q1 of 08 reports alibaba.

However, although Nokia is a great manufacturer, marketer, and distributor of hardware apparently they have some serious issues with their software. Nokia can give away Symbian code as much as they like but this probably will not sway the carriers and app developers in Silicon Valley into believing Nokia handsets are better than the iPhone or BlackBerry smartphones.

Nokia sells hundreds of models and has 3 operating systems and no 2 phones work exactly the same; simple models aren’t compatible with Symbian while apps written for the likes of the iPhone will run on ever iPhone. S60 lack the ease of the iPhone software, and when sending email it take the Nokia N97 twice as long as the iPhone; for the full report hit up the link.
