Now AT&T is known for keeping tight reins on the iPhone when it comes to selling the iconic handset, and in the past has only sold the iPhone via its website, AT&T stores and national partners Wal-Mart and Best Buy.

Now though things are changing as engadget mobile reports that AT&T is opening up the iPhone to certain authorised resellers as of the 1st of November.

Word is twenty agents have received an invite to begin stocking the iPhone in various flavours, but will AT&T still keep the same frame of mind when Apple releases the next new iPhone, or will they simply tug back on those reins?
