The word from over at crackberry is that there is now a new version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager available for download and is version 5.0.1.28 from Research In Motion and can be downloaded via the BlackBerry website or through the desktop manager updater.

Word has it that the new version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager

has had some previously removed stuff added back such as desktop redirector and supports for Windows 7 has also been added. There are also new synchronisation options for adding new fields to the address book and improvements to back-up and restore.

Research In Motion has also added to BlackBerry Desktop Manager 5.0.1.28 support for new BlackBerry smartphones like the BlackBerry Storm 2 and the BlackBerry Bold 9700
