Android Community Roots Motorola Droid and Acer Liquid A1

The big thing that shows a smartphone has come of age is when the mobile phone finally gets rooted by a modding community and thus allow hacks to be performed on said handsets. Well according to an article over on the android community two Android handsets have now gained their rooting badge of honour.

The two Android platform handsets in question are none other than the Android 2.0 packing Motorola Droid, and the new handset from Acer, the Acer Liquid A1, and are both now open to all types of hacks, re-skins and ROMs which are widely available over the Android platform.

One must remember though that if you decide to root your Android handset there are risks involved and thus make sure you have a back up plan at the ready.

So if you happen to have a Motorola Droid handy and feel like going the root route then all the info and needed zip file can be located by hitting here. It looks like a fairly straightforward process so if you attempt it and are successful feel free to let us know.
