Taking on the iPhone new Android device for Motorola

Motorola Inc the biggest US mobile phone maker has added another device to it’s lineup based on Google Inc’s Android software with the intention of finding a product that would hit rivals Apple’s iPhone.

The device is called the BackFlip and has a flip out QWERTY keyboard and also a touchpad on the back of it’s display. The Backflip will be available in the America’s Europe and Asia during the first quarter.

It has a 3.1 inch touch screen display Wi-Fi access a five megapixel camera and the companies Motoblur social networking software.

At the moment there are no details with regards to the pricing but the phone will be available from multiple carriers worldwide. AT&T have stated yesterday that they will be offering a new Motorola based on Android in the first half of the year. Source – businessweek.com
