iPhone iOS 4 free upgrade what you get

The launch of the new iPhone 4 is just a few days away now and tomorrow sees the update iOS 4 which is free and brings lots of new features to users of the earlier version.

Thanks to the article published by Animesh Das over at findtut.com we can now give you further information as to what you can and what you can’t expect depending on which device you have.

We covered a little earlier on the iOS 4 and compatibility which you can view here if you wish to. One question which seems to be a recurring one is just how well will the new software work with the older version. We’ll just have to wait a few more hours before we know for sure.

In a nutshell multitasking is available for iPhone 4, 3GS, 3rd Gen Touch and 2nd Gen Touch but not iPhone 3G. Game Centre, Bluetooth keyboard support and iBooks is available to all. Video calling only available to iPhone 4, iAd and digital camera zoon available to all. App specific location setting, custom dictionary, App gifting and persistent Wi-Fi also available to all plus much more besides.

You should receive an update prompt when your device is turned on and you connect to the internet tomorrow. We would recommend the upgrade as it does bring lots with it and feel free to share with us when you have completed your upgrade what you think of it.
