Samsung Galaxy S Sells More than iPhone in Korea

Well it’s not that surprising when you consider Korea is Samsung’s home turf, apparently Sammy has now announced that they have sold in excess of two million Samsung Galaxy S handsets in the country in its first 6 months of release.

According to an article over on Ubergizmo and by way of Unwired View, the Chosunilbo reports that the sales of the Samsung Galaxy S in Korea beat sales of the iconic Apple iPhone as Apple’s darling device has sold 1.8 million units in the country since its release back in November 2009.

Furthermore the Samsung Galaxy S may also be the first Android packing smartphone to hit the 10 million sales golbally milestone as total sales of the device have already surpassed 9.3 million.

On the tablet front, the Android rival to the Apple iPad, the Samsung Galaxy Tab has sold 100,000 units in Korea and one million units globally, so still a bit of a way to catch up with the iPad, but it seems to be looking good for Sammy products at the moment don’t you think.
