Microsoft goes big with Windows Phone: video

Phones Review Quickie: As you are probably aware, Microsoft has pushed out a few Windows Phone Mango devices recently and if you are going to promote Mango phones then why not do so in a big way. Well Microsoft has certainly gone big with Windows Phone by constructing a 55 foot tall Windows Phone in Herald Square New York.

And we have some footage of that larger than life Windows Phone for your viewing consideration below courtesy of Windows Phone Blog, which is a time-lapse video showing the building of the six story handset.

The reason behind the large construction is to celebrate the arrive of new Windows Phone devices on the AT&T network such as the Samsung Focus S and Samsung Focus Flash and the likes of the T-Mobile HTC Radar 4G.

According to the guys, “The Big Windows Phone will feature 8 hours of live performance and digital entertainment projected on giant LED screens. The Live Tiles will be very much alive: You’ll see games in the Games Hub, music in the Music + Video Hub, people in the People Hub. Besides just seeming like a cool thing to do, the supersized smartphone underscores our people-centered approach to building phones.”

Anyway, I’ll leave it right there so you can head on down and mash that play button to check out this larger than life Windows Phone being constructed. At least for now Windows Phone is big, well at least with one handset anyway, whether Microsoft can make Windows Phone bigger than Android or iOS remains to be seen…enjoy.
