New Ac1dSn0w jailbreak tool for Mac is illegal, download pulled

The brand new Ac1dSn0w jailbreak tool is was out in the open, and it is not the usual suspects such as the well-known Chronic Dev Team, this time round its via the Pwn Dev Team, this new tool is for jailbreaking iOS 5 on the Mac.

There is good news and then quickly some bad, Ac1dSn0w is a new tool that offers a tethered jailbreak on iOS 5.0 and 5.0.1 and for Mac OS X Snow Leopard or Lion users.

This new jailbreak was available to download, but iDB recently reported that the Ac1dSn0w jailbreak tool download has been pulled due to copyright issues, Ac1dSn0w contains Apple’s copyrighted code, which in a nutshell makes this illegal to use, and seeing as Ac1dSn0w does not like to follow this path they have pulled the download until further notice.

Ac1dSn0w for Mac OS X Lion is at beta 1 stage, before the download being pulled we learned that this jailbreak tool featured Tethered Boot, Exit Recovery, Pwned DFU and that it could also work on Snow Leopard.

It supports iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch 4G and the first-gen iPad, it has not been released yet for iPad 2 or iPhone 4S. If the download link goes live again we will let you know.
