Secret Sony Ericsson MT27i aka Pepper like Area 51

Recently leaked images came through pointing to a new Sony Ericsson MT27i aka Pepper handset. Many presumed that the Pepper as it’s been codenamed, would take over from what was the Xperia neo V.

There’s no denying that the Pepper’s details remain a complete secret, abit like Area 51, and with the information on the phone’s specs still appearing vague, reports speculated that the handset would pack a 3.7-inch screen, 1GHz dual-core processor and 5MP camera with 720 video recording.

Today the news is centred around the Pepper being seen in the NenaMark benchmark, running with what may be a GPU ‘ARM Mali-400 MP,’ already used as xperiablog.net pointed out with chipsets U5500, U8500 and U9500.

Other pieces of information have come to light from the recent benchmark including a screen resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and the handset running on Android’s Gingerbread 2.3.7 OS. It’s still very early days for the Sony Ericsson MT27i Pepper phone, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that more details will filter through from Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress event in February.

Give us your thoughts on what is looking to be the successor of the Xperia neo V?
