Upcoming Verizon HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE official

There have been a number of leaks in recent weeks about the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE with a variety of release dates mentioned, and now the upcoming Verizon handset has been made official by the carrier.

The carrier doesn’t offer its customers the HTC One X or the One S, but now it has officially announced a HTC handset all of its own in the form of the Droid Incredible 4G LTE. The company has used the start of the CTIA Wireless convention taking place in New Orleans to reveal the news of the handset, which is the follow up to the Incredible and Incredible 2.

This new handset will come running Android Ice Cream Sandwich straight out of the box with the Sense 4 .0 Android overlay. The handset has a 4-inch Super LCD qHD screen powered by the 1.2 GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with 1GB of RAM and the eight megapixel camera has been confirmed for the rear of the device with a single LED flash.

It will come with only 8GB of on-board storage but this can be expanded by up to 32GB via the microSD card slot, and the Beats Audio enhancements also come with the device. Unfortunately the carrier still hasn’t revealed that all important release date and all that was revealed is it will be available in “the coming weeks”, but recent rumours have suggested May 31st so this could be true.

Pricing was another piece of information that Verizon decided not to share as well, but recent speculation has suggested $299.99 on a two year contract. This may seem a little steep when you consider the HTC One X and Apple iPhone start at $200 with a contract, so we will have to wait until it is officially announced.

Do you plan to get the Droid Incredible 4G LTE?
