ICS Samsung SPH-L300 destined for US spotted

Could old Sammy already be planning on upstaging the new Samsung Galaxy S3 by delivering yet another Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone? Well the word is that Samsung does indeed have another ICS toting handset that is apparently destined to play nice over in the good old US of A.

According to the guys over at Slash Gear, the guys at Brief Mobile, an unnamed source has provided them with an image of the Samsung SPH-L300 smartphone that will come packing Android Ice Cream Sandwich along with the Snapdragon S4 processor and a design that the Brief Mobile guys say is similar to that of the HTC Nexus One.

Other specifications of the Samsung SPH-L300, no doubt that moniker will change by the time the device surfaces, include an 800 x 400 screen resolution, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage, LTE connectivity and a 5 megapixel camera, and apparently NFC functionality and Bluetooth 4.0, and no doubt not a handset that will upstage the Samsung Galaxy S3.

The Android buttons on the handset look to be etched into the frame, a frame which the Slash Gear guys says doesn’t appear to be real metal, so we are probably looking at a plastic housing, and the smartphone measures 12.19cm x 6.38cm x 1.204cm.

Word is the Samsung SPH-L300 has a product code of Sprint and as such it is expected the smartphone will launch on the US carrier at some point in the not too distant future, but obviously just when and how much the Android headset will cost remains unclear, but as soon as we hear more we will of course pass it along.
