While many Android fans are looking forward to the unveiling of the new version of the HTC One, the company has already launched some cheaper handsets, and now the HTC Desire 816 UK release is seemingly confirmed.

While the device was launched back at the Mobile Congress event UK availability of the HTC Desire 816 hasn’t been mentioned, but now HTC UK has taken to Twitter to provide the image that you can see on this page that seemingly means it will see a UK release at some point.

The handset will be released in China later this month and pre-orders for the device have been really good so far, and to recap the device features a 5.5-inch 720p display powered by the quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.6GHz.

There is also a 13-megapixel rear camera along with 1.5GB of RAM and a 5-megapixel front facer, and the HTC Desire 816 looks to provide consumers a worthy cheaper phablet alternative to the HTC One Max.
