HTC Thunderbolt Experiencing Problems with Video Audio Capture

Oh dear, it appears that the new 4G enabled smartphone playing nice on Verizon’s LTE network, the HTC Thunderbolt is having a few teething problems in the video capture department; however apparently the problem is being sorted.

According to an article over on Engadget Mobile, and by way of Android Central Forums, users are reporting an issue with the audio capture when using the video recorder. Apparently when using audio capture on the video recorder sometimes sound is recorded while other times it’s muffled.

However apparently Android 2.2 Froyo HTC Thunderbolt users shouldn’t be too disheartened as HTC is aware of the problem and has apparently confirmed that they are working on a fix for the problem, so at some point in the future HTC Thunderbolt owners can expect a software update.

But if you are experiencing this issue the guys over at Android Central there are a few supposed workarounds available by using a 3rd-party recorder until such times as HTC push out that fix.

So we’d like to know if any of our readers are experiencing this problem with their HTC Thunderbolt and if so shout out to our comments area below.

No video problems, but just today my camera has started blinking on and off constantly… making the camera basically unusable. Tried re-start and battery pull… nothing. Any suggestions?

Yup this is indeed an issue, as the camcorder on my TBolt delivers sound that is barely audible. A workaround for me is to use a headset mic plugged in while recording; this seems to improve things a bit but is still not great. HTC told me it would be fixed in an OTA update.
