Increased memory solution software for smartphones introduced by Samsung

Samsung has released a press release announcing the introduction of software that is designed to optimise the high performance features of its proprietary embedded flash memories: OneNAND, Flex-OneNAND and moviNAND in smartphones.

The vice president of Memory Division Samsung Electronics Co, Ltd, Young Joon Choi said: “The new software, which significantly upgrades performance of our embedded memory solutions, is expected to make OneNAND and other high-performance, high-density memory solutions such as the 16GB moviNAND even more desirable for advanced handsets, speeding the adoption rate of Samsung’s embedded memory solutions.”

So apparently the software optimizes data transitions within its memory chips as they interact with the mobile phones operating system.

This results in improved multimedia intensive operations which are common in today’s smartphones, digital still cameras, memory cards, digital camcorders, digital TV’s and third-generation phones.

Samsung’s new embedded flash software is made of several file systems along with improved flash drivers…
