Samsung has unleashed a software upgrade for the Samsung SGH-i617 BlackJack II, and recommends it be installed.

The Samsung SGH-i617 BlackJack II update includes an upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.1 along with other software enhancements, and may take ten to fifteen minutes to complete if your system is already in set up.

Included in the update for the Samsung SGH-i617 BlackJack II are Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1w/AKU1.0.1; System Center Mobile Device Manager (SCMDM); Improved GPS Navigation: With AT&T Navigator and assisted-GPS; Threaded SMS Messaging; Internet Connection sharing; Mobile Banking; and Voice Command.
