RIM launch 3 IMs for BlackBerry in US

On Wednesday, at CTIA, Research In Motion announced free AIM and ICQ instant messenger apps for Research In Motion’s smartphones and includes AOL Mail on BlackBerry.

This AIM for BlackBerry isn’t a new app but until yesterday was only available to certain Blackberry handsets in the United States.

However as of yesterday all three free BlackBerry apps are now available across the US and are expected to become available for BlackBerry smartphones in other countries over the coming months.

ICQ and AIM are leaders in the IM and mobile-IM arena and have apps available for other mobile platforms including the Apple iPhone and Windows Mobile.
