Network giant T-Mobile USA is about to become the first company in the world to announce a mobile phone based on Google’s Android OS, the announcement will take place on Sept 23 at a New York press conference according to The New York times.

High Tech Computer (HTC) the Taiwan manufacturer will provide the handset, although a HTC representative didn’t make any comment to this report. It’s seems that the word is out about the announcement on Sept 23 as several website are reporting the date and on one site it shows what looks like an T-mobile advertisement.

The handset that HTC has already said they have been developing is codename “Dream” and is to be developed around the Android.
