LG Electronics and Microsoft brings Mobile Communications Forward

LG and Microsoft have joined to announce the signing of Memorandum of Understanding with a view to forming a strategic collaboration in Mobile Convergence. This joint agreement was both signed by the Vice-Chairman and chief executive officer of LG Electronics, Seoul by Yong Nam, and the chief executive officer of Microsoft, Steve Ballmer.

This new agreement will ensure the continued strategic collaboration in R&D, marketing, applications, and services in the field of converged mobile devices, and also reflects both companies’ commitment to leverage best-in-class technology, resources and expertise.

Under the new Memorandum of Understanding converged mobile phone business will be reinforced via LG’s core experience in marketing and products in the mobile arena and IT area along with Microsoft’s excellence in Windows Mobile Operating Systems apps and services.
