Skyfire mobile browser beta now available in the UK

Nokia S60 and Windows Mobile handsets mobile browser Skyfire has now widened its UK beta testing and registration for the Skyfire service is no longer required. Skyfire uses a proxy server to manage all the heavy processing and simply render content on a mobile phone.

Opera Mini mobile browser works in a similar way however, Skyfire steps further as it supports Java, Flash, Sliverlight and AJAX along with rendering contest from such as the BBC’s iPlayer and YouTube.

Eary Skyfire betas had stability and interface problems along with being limited to the US, these have been addressed with the latest version of Skyfire 0.8.5, and Skyfire claim this is “the first time you’ll be able to view the entire web on your mobile device.”
