According to the Register, BT is apparently thinking of once again entering the mobile phone market, for our foreign readers, BT is basically the UK’s major landline supplier.

BT will probably opt for some MVNO type set-up with the likes of 3 and T-Mobile, but apparently the negotiations are still in the early stages. This of course won’t be the first time BT has entered the mobile arena as they did previously with Cellnet which of course became O2.

For BT to consider re-entering the mobile phone arena they are going to need something new as if they enter just as another operator offering the same mobile handsets it won’t be anything special.

So any ideas on what BT may have up their sleeve to make them stand out?
