According to Ashok Kumar, an analyst for Collins Stewart, Palm and Foxconn International are experiencing problems producing high quantities of the Palm Pre smartphone reports barrons.

Sprint has already acknowledged there will be limited supplies of the Palm Pre when it goes live on June the 6th. Best Buy has also confirmed they will have limited stock.

However, Kumar, after checking back with his source at Foxconn now believes that the supply of the Palm Pre at introduction will be below even a reduced estimate of some 150,000 Palm Pre handsets. The reason given for this is Foxconn is more or less having to check each handset one by one by hand.
