Today is the big day, the iPhone 3G S launch day has arrived, and Apple sores across the globe will open at 7:00AM local time to offer the latest iconic handset.

According to a report on pcworld, iPhone fans began forming queues Thursday afternoon at Apple’s flagship store on 5th Avenue in New York. Softbank’s flagship store in Tokyo has apparently nearly 200 customers waiting in line as of yesterday morning eager to get their iPhone 3G S.

So it still looks like the iPhone still pulls in the crowds, a rather differed picture to that of the launch day of the Palm Pre.
