The word according to 3g.co.uk, Tesco has now confirmed that they will start to stock smartphones and they have hopes this move will increase the sales of mobile phones and ensure more people join the Tesco network.

The first 2 smartphone to hit Tesco shelves will be the LG GW-300 and the Alcatel Tribe OT-800; both are low end budget smartphones and will be available on Tesco Mobile prepaid tariff, with the Alcatel Tribe OT-800 carrying a price of £50.

The LG GW-300 features a 2.4 inch QVGA display, QWERTY keyboard, 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and comes preloaded with Facebook, but no word on price; Tesco are also in talks to bring eight smartphones to their stores by the end of the year
