OK so today has been good news all round especially with Steve Jobs making his first appearance at the live Apple Event 2009 and of course the announcement of the ready to download Apple iPhone OS 3.1 software, but what can this new software bring to the table?

Many of us are already using the iPhone 3G and the latest 3GS and we would like to know just like those over on Redmond Pie if this new software can better the battery life on both of these Apple smartphones.

We all know when checking emails, browsing the web, playing games especially, using 3G and watching movies really drains the battery pretty quick, yes the 3GS battery life is a little better than the 3G model but still not the best is it. It is the software that is the main culprit to the lack of battery life not solely the hardware.
