Now here’s a turn up for the books, apparently according to an article over on apple insider, the TomTom car kit for iPhone is not compatible with the first generation iPhone 2G or with the iPod Touch.
This appears to be somewhat of a U-turn as early reports from TomTom claimed since the TomTom car kit contained their own GPS it can be used with the first gen iPhone 2G and iPod Touch.
So apparently there’s no point in iPhone 2G or iPod Touch owners getting the TomTom car kit as company officials have apparently confirmed this and when asked if the TomTom app would be updated to include the iPhone 2G and iPod Touch they said TomTom has not made any “public announcements.”
